A summer plan for Grand Strand heat
Grand Strand heat turns a trash can fast. The summer plan cleans your cans every two weeks from June through September, then drops back to monthly in October.

Why summer is hard on trash cans, and what the plan does
Why summer is different
From June through September, the Grand Strand turns hot and humid, and the dampness keeps everything wet. Temperatures that high speed up everything that happens inside a closed can. A closed can in the sun becomes an oven, and food residue breaks down much faster than it does in January.
Flies lay eggs on that residue, and in the heat they can hatch in under a day. A can that was fine two weeks ago can have larvae now, especially after a holiday weekend or a week of cookouts. A short stretch of neglect is all it takes.
Most households clean once a month in cooler months. In summer a month is too long, because the film rebuilds and the odor returns before the next visit arrives. A clean every two weeks keeps ahead of it, so the can never reaches the point where you notice.
What the plan includes
Two cleans a month on your trash day, June through September. We lift each can onto the rig after your hauler empties it and wash the inside and outside with 200-degree water, which kills eggs and larvae. Two washes a month means eggs are rinsed out before they can grow into larvae.
Each visit includes the lid, hinge and wheels, a biodegradable, hospital-grade sanitizer and a deodorizer. Wastewater is captured in the truck’s holding tank. We text you a photo after every clean. If a visit ever falls short, tell us within 48 hours and we return at no charge.
In October the plan switches to monthly at the monthly rate, or you cancel with a reply to any text or a call to (843) 222-0207. There is no contract and nothing to sign. We will text you in September to ask which you prefer.

Make summer easier on your cans
- Keep the can in shade or against the north side of the house.
- Bag and tie food waste, and freeze meat or fish scraps until trash day.
- Put cans out the morning of pickup, not the night before.
- Keep the lid shut, and use a strap if raccoons visit.
- Rinse the recycling cart so sugary residue does not draw flies.
When to start and how the season runs
Start in late May or early June, before the first real heat. Booking early means your first clean happens on a normal trash day with no rush. If you start midsummer, we begin on your next trash day and keep every two weeks from there through September.
We follow your regular trash day, so the schedule is two cleans in each month. If your hauler runs late or skips a holiday week, we will text you if a visit needs to move. We cover all of Horry County, from Conway and Red Hill to Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach and North Myrtle Beach, at the same price in every town.
In September we will text you to ask whether you want to go monthly or cancel. Monthly plans renew until you cancel, and cancelling is a text away.
What it costs and how it compares
The summer plan is $40 (sample) a month for the first can. Additional cans and a recycling cart are added for the additional-can price, which is listed on our pricing page. For comparison, the monthly plan is $25 (sample) a month for one clean, and the summer plan gives you two cleans for $40 (sample).
If you only have a bad week now and then, a one-time deep clean may be cheaper. If you notice the smell or the flies every summer, the plan costs less across the season than repeat one-time cleans, and it saves you from the day you lift the lid and find maggots.
You can see the full residential service on the residential trash can cleaning page, including quarterly plans and what each visit includes.
Summer plan and storm season
Hurricane season overlaps the plan. Before a storm, bring cans into the garage or tie them down, and do not leave them at the curb. If a storm disrupts pickup in your area, we will text you if your clean needs to move to a new date.
After a storm, cans that got wet or filled with debris often smell the next day. A clean after the storm clears them out. Our guide on trash can tips for hurricane season explains where to put cans before a storm and what to do afterward.

Questions about the summer plan
It runs June through September with a clean every two weeks on your trash day. In October it switches to monthly at the monthly rate, or you can cancel with a text or call.
Monthly is one clean a month at $25 (sample) for the first can. The summer plan is two cleans a month at $40 (sample), because heat builds odors and fly eggs much faster from June to September.
Yes. We start on your next trash day and clean every two weeks from there through September. Pricing is the same, and you do not need to wait for June.
No. You can cancel anytime by replying to a text or calling (843) 222-0207. Monthly and quarterly plans renew until cancelled, and the summer plan moves to monthly in October unless you cancel.
Tell us by text or call and we will work out the dates with you. Cans left full during a long trip are exactly what the plan is meant to prevent, so a clean right after you return is a good idea.
Book once. We handle every trash day after that.
No contract. Cancel anytime from a text.
